The Bill Reichardt Clothes Closet, located in the Johnson Alumni Center building, exists to provide an opportunity for any enrolled AIB student to select professional or business casual clothing and accessories FREE of charge.
The Clothes Closet supports the AIB philosophy by stressing a professional appearance when students interview and work in the business community. On the walls of the Clothes Closet are tips for students preparing for an interview. Handouts of these tips are given to students visiting the Clothes Closet.
The Clothes Closet was first established by the student organization ASOC (Adult Student on Campus) in the spring of 2000 literally in a closet on campus. The Clothes Closet was honorably named the Bill Reichardt Clothes Closet in November of 2006. Mr. Reichardt owned and operated Reichardt's Clothing and was a mentor and role model for young professionals entering the business world. In 2006, the Bill Reichardt Clothes Closet was relocated to two apartments on campus to accommodate its growth.
Make a Clothing Donation
The Bill Reichardt Clothes Closet is in need of donations of professional or business casual clothing and accessories. Accessories include: shoes, ties, belts, scarves, purses, billfolds, brief cases, jewelry, socks, hosiery, new cosmetic items, etc.
To make a donation, fill out the Donation form and contact Sheila Keene, Clothes Closet Coordinator, at (515) 246-5328 or sheilak@aib.edu. Donations are tax deductible. After the gift is processed, a gift-in-kind receipt will be provided by mail from AIB.
Donation Drop Off Times and Directions
Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Please bring your donation to the Keith Fenton Administration Building. (The first building to your right as you enter the main AIB entrance off Fleur Drive). Pull into the circle drive where the flags are located and park near the front doors. Ask the receptionist for assistance if you need help dropping off your donations. Leave your donation and donation form with the receptionist.
